morningwalk redux

snow draped like napkins
abandoned after a glut of winter
::
wind rattles trees
branches sift sun
ice brings me to my knees
::
a slink of ginger
on the brink of snow
a cat, red as a fox
stalking winter prey
::
winter’s canopy
unwavering in its constancy
dark as earth uprooted
waiting on spring
::
cloud multi-storied
spilling light gloried
trees swaying
to the wind’s hallelujah
::
kerchief of snow
throws weary world
into relief
