morningwalk redux

wind roars
boring through trees
in its wake
broken limbs, deadwood, twig scree
::
not a bird to be heard
just the icy flutter
of wind brushing cheek
::
snow catches on trees
white etching bleak
in sepia relief
::
sky matte and stacked
as a neapolitan brick:
peach, periwinkle, plum
