Designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí, the Sagrada Familia combines Gothic and curvilinear Art Nouveau forms. Construction of the World Heritage Site basilica began in 1882 and is expected to be completed in 2026, the centennial of Gaudi’s death.

      jealous :) Sagrada Família is now on my must-visit list.

      as for Gaudí, what a cheeky and ambitious fellow.

      the whole project is so medieval in its scope and the length of its construction. odd to think of designing something you knew you would never see completed.
